In Lingua Tertii Imperii, Victor Klemperer acutely analyses the semantic distortions and linguistic forcings enacted by the Third Reich on the German language. The deforming intention of this 'nazified language' lives again, recontextualised, in the telluric and disturbing energy of The Third Reich. In a duel between images and sounds, Romeo Castellucci's installation translates the violence of this decalogue into the "performative power of the word that takes shape in the linguistic act". In the space of an initiation rite conducted by a performer, followed by a video installation with implacable sounds, the spectator is attacked without escape by the uncontrollable and violent frenzy of "inculcated and obligatory" communication.
