In July 2001 Genoa was stage of an epochal tragedy, and the events happened there used to be mentioned among the great tragic facts in the history. I think about Genoa like Thebes and Troy: it may become the place of a story forever recorded in our memory, the place of myth and tragedy.
None the less we can’t perform such tragedy, so far.
Perhaps we will do it in 100 thousand years, once it is true memory: so far the facts have not yet become History. It’s still a chronicle, new details daily come out, and the Protagonists are not yet Characters rather Persons. This city and the chronicle history of those days are stuck between urgent need to be narrated and the impossibility to do it. But this story must be told. It has the right. It’s our duty. Whatever we need to do it, is in our hands.
